Mass UFO Sighting at Gosford and a Crashed Flying Saucer
[2] - The Alien Time Slip at the Gosford Glyphs
“How do I tell you about extraterrestrial events that took place almost a million years ago without you thinking that I belong in the nearest mental hospital?” - Valerie Barrow
So where did we leave off last time?
Ah yes, I was talking about an alleged living artefact left here by powerful beings in remote prehistory. An accessible repository of great knowledge that could be a Bracewell sentinel probe.
If you think I’m unaware of how wild that sounds, trust me, I get it. Those words are quoted from Valerie Barrow’s introduction to her 2002 book, Alcheringa When the First Ancestors Were Created. However, twenty years after Valerie wrote them those same words are alive in me right now.
There’s part of me that wants to turn back from sharing all this, a little voice is whispering inside, “Retreat to safety Bruce, there’s still time. You shouldn’t do this, you’re too insignificant to get away with making such profound claims. You’ll be eaten alive once people read it all!”
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
― Frank Herbert, Dune
In the film version of Frank Herbert’s Dune, there’s a seminal moment in which the protagonist, Paul Atreides, must place his hand into a pain-inflicting device. A wise crone holds a poison needle to his throat, the promise of death beckons if he can’t endure.
The young nobleman is intended to learn that to be fully human, rather than animal, one must choose to endure and overcome pain. The transmutation of suffering initiates the humanoid creature into a human of real value to the community.
Unlike Paul, my retreat from this subject matter would only bring ‘the little death’ of a life overwhelmed by fear, not one ended by a deadly poison. Anyway, I choose to stay with this process, to endure. I will face my fear.
I am also asking you to take this ride with me rather than just click away.
Hopefully, you are familiar with that tension-filled car scene from the 1999 Hollywood movie The Matrix. The would-be hero, Neo, is about to exit the car and choose his familiar mundane life over the uncomfortable revelations on offer. The heroine of the film, Trinity, prompts a rethink when she says, “…you have been down there, Neo. You know that road. You know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be.”
It’s pretty much that. Stay in the car and I’ll take you on a high-strangeness road trip.
Of course, it’s not for me to tell you what to believe. My job here isn’t to convince you of anything. I will share a story which offers profound implications for our species and provide supporting evidence.
My advice is NOT TO BELIEVE. Just listen and consider everything with open-minded scepticism. Take from this whatever passes your smell test. Make of it all what you will.
We are here together in this ‘dreaming’. Always were, Always are, and always will be. Our human journey is a story with deep roots and branches reaching up into impenetrable clouds.
My appreciation and respect are humbly offered to all those who played a role in returning the relevant information to my consciousness, especially the elders, wisdom keepers and star people. Yes, even star people - whatever those are exactly.
Strange Lights Over the Water
That dedicated investigator of high strangeness, John Keel, detected several patterns in UFO sightings. One of these observed peculiar patterns was an increase in so-called UFO flaps around Christmas time.
In the UK our most famous mass sighting, The Rendlesham event, occurred on the day after Christmas in 1980. Several military personnel observed mysterious luminous objects over several days in Rendlesham forest.
The Gosford mass UFO sighting event started on Christmas morning. The city of Gosford is perched on the edge of the Brisbane Waters in New South Wales, Australia. The water featured as the backdrop to the majority of the reported sightings, which continued up until New Year’s Eve.
The Gosford city police department was flooded with reports of a strange unidentified flying object. A local police officer, Sgt Bob Wenning, said of the dozens of witness reports, “All the people that I spoke to had exactly the same thing to say, there was no variance whatsoever in the object that was sighted.”
Most of the UFO witnesses described a spherical or cylindrical object (perhaps due to different viewing angles) hanging over the waters of the bay. The skin of the object was a shiny chrome colour with a preponderance of lights covering both the top and bottom.
Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of the Gosford mass UFO sighting is the witness descriptions that include seeing a large volume of water sucked up into the object, accompanied by considerable noise. After a short period, the water was seen to be released, coming crashing back down.
Former air traffic controller Lindsay Carter described the silver metallic object as seen from the Pacific Highway on the way from Sydney to Gosford, noting, “When you see something like this there is a sure knowledge that you are looking at something that is beyond your experience.”
Some witnesses with an elevated vantage point described seeing the mysterious luminous object zig-zag across the water for at least a quarter of an hour. Was it searching for something out there in the bay?
Unknown to the witnesses of the Gosford UFO event, another set of mind-bending alien-craft-linked events was underway just over two hours drive to their south. An intersection of this high strangeness was destined to occur just on the outskirts of their city limits.
Once Upon an Alien Dream
Uncle Gerry Bostock was a respected elder of the Bundjalung Nation. The Bundjalung people are the indigenous traditional custodians of a large section of coastal New South Wales, about 550 kilometres northeast of Sydney. Some regional groups within the Bundjalung population hold the conviction that their ancestors are beings from the stars.
Uncle Gerry served nine years in the Australian army, then later he became a prominent Aboriginal rights activist. Today he’s remembered as a noted playwright, poet, filmmaker and gifted traditional healer. The prefix ‘uncle’ used here is a traditional mark of respect for an important Aboriginal elder.
At the age of sixteen Uncle Gerry experienced a vivid dream. The visionary events felt utterly real and left him searching for meaning over several days. The account of this dream is recorded in the book, Alcheringa When the First Ancestors Were Created (2002).
“In the dream, I was on board a huge spacecraft in orbit around a blue and green planet. Everything on the ship had a bright sheen to it, particularly the uniforms of the people. There was lots of hurried activity, coloured lights were flashing, and bells were ringing.”
“Everyone was in a hurry following certain procedures as if there were an emergency. I was seeing everything through the eyes of a crewmember, perhaps a pilot or navigator. I felt an urgency to get my family together before some immanent event occurred.”
“The scene changed, and I was on board a smaller craft escaping from the mother ship. As I looked out the porthole, I became aware of two things, the planet we were heading towards, and the mother ship we were leaving. The mother ship was an immense saucer or mushroom-shaped silvery craft with hundreds of smaller ships leaving it, one of them containing my wife. They were all heading away in every direction, trying to escape as quickly as possible. Suddenly there was a blinding flash and the mother ship blew up. The impact on me was so overwhelming that I woke from the dream.”
Just a dream.
Perhaps…
Here we fast-forward to late 1994, just over three months before the UFO sighting in Gosford.
Synchronicity Unfolds
Uncle Gerry is in his truck driving near Canyonleigh, New South Wales. In the passenger seat is his friend Rachel. An unexpected set of roadworks ahead forces an unexpected detour. As the truck passed a turn-off Rachel points and says, “That’s where my friend Valerie lives, her home is called Alcheringa.”
Hearing the Aboriginal house name catches Uncle Gerry’s attention and he slows the truck to a stop. Staring intensely at the turn-off Uncle Gerry turned back to Rachel and replied, “Then we will go and see her.”
The owner of the house is Valerie Barrow, a past life regression therapist and spiritual medium. Unknown to Uncle Gerry this unplanned encounter is about to drastically change the course of many lives, including his own.
Just a few months before Uncle Gerry and Rachel pulled into her driveway, Valerie had received another unexpected visitor. That one had been Helen, a friend of a friend, carrying a mysterious Aboriginal artefact called a churinga.
Helen was a lady on a mission. She had committed to locating the appropriate traditional custodians of the artefact. Unfortunately, a serious illness required her to be hospitalised imminently. Needing somewhere to safely deposit her sacred burden for a few months, Helen heard about the open-minded spiritual medium living in a house named Alcheringa.
The synchronicity of this Aboriginal house name wasn’t lost on Helen, she had a churinga associated with the Alcheringa, that being the Arrernte nations dreaming lore. Valerie had compassionately accepted the unusual request made by this very sick-looking lady.
As per the given instructions for the storage of the object, Valerie left the churinga fully wrapped in its paperbark and cloth coverings and placed it into a shoe box. The box was then put away in her home office.
By her admission, Valerie Barrow had never interacted with members of the indigenous population. This is not an uncommon reality among white Australians in a society which is somewhat culturally segregated.
The house name, Alcheringa, had been picked out of a dictionary, it just felt right. Now in the space of a few months, the Indigenous word used as a house name had brought two rather unusual visitors.
A lady bearing a mysterious ancient artefact had been peculiar enough. Now an Aboriginal elder was knocking at her door.
During their conversation, Uncle Gerry showed Valerie a pink crystal. Whilst contemplatively looking deep into her eyes he remarked, “It’s a magic stone, is it not?”
Valerie sensed he wasn’t talking about the crystal but was somehow aware of the artefact in her house, she blurted out, “You know about the Alcheringa stone.”
Uncle Gerry replied tersely, “It’s men’s business”. Nervously Valerie explained that she had done her best to follow the prescribed traditional protocols. The stone had always remained wrapped. Valerie reiterated that at no time had she unwrapped the package to directly touch the contents or even take a peek. Uncle Gerry nodded and appeared satisfied.
Valerie went on to share that since receiving the artefact a discarnate male voice had been telepathically communicating with her, referring to itself as Alcheringa. An attempt to invite Uncle Gerry to see the package was quickly refused, some fear was visible in the elder’s eyes.
The Gosford Glyphs
Uncle Gerry suggested that they should both take a trip to Kariong, a small suburb of Gosford. He was keen to see if this Alcheringa entity would communicate with them at an important Aboriginal sacred site in the forests just outside of the city.
The meeting place that had been chosen is now quite well-known in the wider ancient mysteries and archaeological communities. Not only is there an Indigenous sacred site at Kariong but also a set of strange hieroglyphs carved into two rock walls. These engravings are best known as the Gosford glyphs.
Debates have long raged over the true origins of the Gosford glyphs. Many people believe them to be ancient Egyptian, telling the account of two ship-wrecked Egyptian princes. Some independent researchers suggest that at least a few of the markings are alien, detailing the destruction of an extraterrestrial craft.
In our 2013 co-authored book, Ancient Aliens in Australia, Steven and Evan Strong tackled the various interpretations of the Gosford glyphs quite extensively. My wife, Daniella, and I finally had the pleasure of visiting the site in 2017.
Most archaeologists and officials express the view that all of the glyphs are part of an elaborate hoax perpetuated for unknown reasons. Decades after the site became publicly known the supposed hoaxer has not come forward.
Time Slips and Flying Saucer Crashes
Now, it isn’t necessary to detail everything that occurred after Uncle Gerry, Valerie and her friend Helen, another psychic medium, met at Kariong. Soon after arrival Valerie initiated contact with the mysterious Alcheringa being and relayed a series of messages.
Some of the content from this communication involved claims that various alien species visited earth in prehistoric times. After about twenty minutes of this channelling-type activity, with Valerie as medium, the ethereal presence seemed to depart.
Uncle Gerry then led the trio up to Whale Rock, a nearby flat boulder engraved with Aboriginal artwork depicting a stylised whale. From there they could see out towards the bay.
Shortly after reaching Whale Rock all three people began to feel a strange perceptual shift, gradually slipping into some kind of collective visionary experience. The air surrounding them felt hotter and more humid. The light forest now appeared both denser and lusher.
Looking down towards the water they could now see a stricken saucer-shaped craft, half sunk. Just above the crashed ship hovered a second flying saucer. Dozens of distinctly alien-looking humanoids milled around on the beach, they appeared to be of various types. Others of these beings lay on the ground looking injured.
It became evident that the radiation of our sun was harmful to these non-human people, some screamed in agony as they desperately sought shade. The air must have also been poorly suited as it was clear some of the beings were gasping uncomfortably.
The three friends experienced being linked to the consciousness of these aliens, feeling their pain, emotional turmoil, and fears. They also gained a shared memory of how this scene had come about.
They now knew that the mothership had been attacked and destroyed in orbit. These beings were the few survivors that made it to the surface in the smaller exploratory craft. They also experienced the powerful knowing that they were, or had been, members of this crew, arrived from a far distant world and marooned on earth.
Uncle Gerry suddenly realised that they were all experiencing the expanded story from his alien spacecraft dream. He had gained the context into which the narrative of his lucid dream could readily fit. The understanding arose within that it was himself who had piloted the saucer craft now lying broken in the water.
Memories of a distant epoch continued to flow. Uncle Gerry now remembered attempting to land the craft, but due to damage caused by proximity to the exploding mothership, his craft came down too fast.
With diminishing control over the vessel, they impacted the water hard. The bulkhead collapsed inwards and a metal beam skewered him to the control console. Water rushed into the holed craft, and unable to escape his fate the pilot slowly drowned beneath this alien sea.
Alien Evangelists on a Cosmic Mission
The account of the time slip at Whale Rock typifies the many experiencer accounts shared in the book, Alcheringa When the First Ancestors Were Created. When we were still living in Australia Daniella and I visited Valerie at her home.
During our conversation, Valerie told us that over forty people had reported vivid experiences connected to the alien visitation story. Most accounts did not make it into her book as it would have made it too long. The dozens of individuals with relevant experiences that are featured in the narrative paint an extraordinary story.
The highlights of this case can be summarised here, though my overview will, unfortunately, fail to do it all justice.
A vast sentient megastructure, the Rexegena, was grown (not built) on a colonised planet in the distant Pleiades star cluster. The ship was crystalline in composition and imbued with a living sentient presence, what I would call self-aware artificial intelligence.
An alliance of worlds, some kind of galactic federation, had arranged a mission to Earth. This mission was viewed as spiritual or metaphysical, aiming to upgrade earth from being a place of malicious energy and hostile beings. The handover of Earth from its hostile overseers had been carefully negotiated with many concessions being offered.
Yes, the colonists onboard this living ship could be considered cosmic evangelists with the belief they were on a mission from God to bring light into a dark corner of the galaxy. Their spiritual leadership are a collective of ethereal entities named the Elohim, we would probably call these esoteric influencers ‘angelic beings’.
The mothership travelled to earth through what may be some kind of wormhole, it sounds like what I imagine one might be like. After some time in terrestrial orbit and offloading some equipment and personnel the mission experienced internal betrayal. With the energy shields taken offline in advance, the nefarious rulers of earth launched a surprise attack.
Following the attack, several smaller craft were able to exit the dying mothership shortly before it exploded and melted to liquid. Debris from the explosion rained down across a large part of the planet’s surface. Some few of these escaping crafts evaded pursuit and managed to reach the planet’s surface in Australia.
In 2002, during a shamanic journey, I spontaneously experienced myself as a tall humanoid alien man with a greyish complexion, wearing a tight-fitting blue jumpsuit. The being was piloting a craft in space under hostile pursuit. I experienced a powerful sense of betrayal and loss, somehow knowing that we were moving away from the destruction of a large number of friends. The craft was heading towards the earth.
It was this personal experience that forced me to take Valerie’s book content more seriously. My first encounter with her work was after working on Ancient Aliens in Australia, in 2013, thanks to the suggestion of our co-authors.
Honestly, I cried as I read about the attack on the mothership and the subsequent desperate flight to earth. To date, I continue to have PTSD-type reactions when re-reading some parts of that book. Even while writing this piece. What exactly is my connection to this story? Honestly, that’s hard to say, but it sure as hell feels like there is one.
Notably tight-fitting blue uniforms feature in many of the experiencer accounts Valerie recorded. Some of these experiences occurred spontaneously at her home, others occurred after individuals were shown images of the Gosford Glyphs or while in hypnotic regression sessions.
The survivors of the attack set up a base camp in Australia. They were poorly suited to the environment and lacking most of their technologies it wasn’t possible to alter themselves sufficiently. Instead, they decided on a plan B.
Rather than colonise the planet and replace the malevolent overseers, they would instead work to free the enslaved hominin population and bring them into a higher state of awareness. This would require genetically altering some of these indigenous humanoids.
So it was that in an Australian garden of Eden, the first true ancestors of modern humans were born. A species still indigenous to Earth’s evolutionary processes, but with just a strain of star ancestry.
Target Topics for the Research
After reading Alcheringa When the First Ancestors Were Created it became clear that sufficient details existed to make possible an independent investigation. The primary sources are a combination of messages allegedly received from the churinga artefact and purported past life memories from several dozen people.
Three central events in the book lend themselves to being readily explored for objective scientific support, items 1-3 below. Several lesser topics potentially could be associated with objective evidence, items 4-6.
Included here below is a selection of quotes relevant to each topic. However, these are not intended to be exhaustive.
1. The destruction of the enormous crystalline AI craft while in orbit followed by a rain of melted debris.
“It [the mothership] was built, in our terms, quite differently from what the earthling understands at this time. It was a crystalline body. It had a consciousness because of the crystal; a consciousness that had been imbued into it by its builders. It actually grew. Liquid crystal is used in many ways to make many things in the star peoples’ dimension.”
“In my memory, and many other people’s memory, the Mothership was stationed on the outer atmosphere of this planet earth. The ship was organic.”
“The explosion in my dream looked like a nuclear explosion – hotter than the sun, causing the Mothership to melt.”
“Are you aware if pieces of the mothership came to Earth?” “It sort of melted. There were pieces all around.”
2. An engineered global asteroid bombardment 5 years after the mothership’s destruction.
‘We have the power to direct meteors, that is like our artillery, our bombers.
“The command ships in this peace corps are very small. The actual workhorses, the meteors and the planetoids are huge.”
“We can pull down a meteor and direct it. Some are so big they will shatter a planet.”
‘Five years after the mother ship exploded. We came to enforce the edict and they challenged us, so we destroyed them.’
3. Genetic manipulation of early hominins
“The Earth itself was a hostile environment for the star people, so they planned to modify themselves genetically to be able to spread across the planet”
“The star people decided to genetically engineer the up-standing ape-like creature. Genes from the star people were intermingled with the animal man embryo, then implanted into the females. The babies were born with a larger skull, a little less hair, which went on then to evolve so that the more children born, the less hair was manifested”
“Many of us had been artificially impregnated with our own seed that had been genetically modified to produce a new being, able to cope with the sun and atmosphere of this place.”
“Here were survivors from a star ship, cast onto Earth, attempting genetic engineering from a first aid kit... Some of them don’t turn out quite right, some of them do.”
“I had remembered seeing the birth of a genetic experiment gone terribly wrong”
“The human has been created genetically from the up-standing ape-like creature and the star people.”
4. Domestication of early humans
“To teach them more about the star people, how they live as family and how they married. They taught them how to communicate telepathically, and some other clever things, similar to the star people. They also taught them to honour and care for their Mother Earth.”
5. Teaching cooking with fire
“It was a time when the star people first introduced fire and showed the animal-like being – now the human – how to cook food to lessen their vulnerability to disease”
“They all live in huts that are built in a circle with a fire in the middle. The fire is important it must never go out.”
6. Directed interbreeding and archaic population replacement
“As the original numbers grew, the star people took them out around the earth and told them to multiply with other upstanding ape-like creatures who were still brutish and weapon-wielding. The change from the animal man to human began to uplift the consciousness of those beings along with strict marriage laws so that they did not interbreed.”
Conclusion
The aim of the research project is two-fold.
We seek to confirm that communications with a discarnate consciousness can enable wisdom acquisition. The acquired information must be verified through objective supporting scientific sources.
We further intend to utilise the wisdom acquired from seemingly paranormal sources to guide us to objective evidence of extraterrestrial visitation (and intervention) during remote prehistory.
To avoid claims of cherry-picking we have employed certain constraints. If multiple ancient events are to be considered interlinked the supporting evidence should also place these events in temporal proximity. Allowing for some uncertainty intrinsic to dating events on geological scales the dates in the academic literature should at least be overlapping. That is to say, we could not reasonably link two events officially dated 800,000-750,000 and 600,000-550,000 years before the present, while we could argue for a link between events dated 750,000-700,0000 and 700,000-650,000.
It should go without saying that the tighter the dates the stronger our case for linking them together as being simultaneous and inter-related.
We must also recognise that any information readily available before the time the source material was published (2002) could potentially be known to, and influence, some accounts in the source material. Human memory can be consciously or unconsciously influenced by exposure to information. Scientific studies published later than 2002 are therefore considered the gold standard for verifying any claims.
I acknowledge my bias towards accepting the story upfront largely due to personal experiences. However, I will rely on presenting objective evidence to make the case that I am not simply self-deluded.
Entirely fictitious stories do not guide investigators to legitimate objective supporting evidence. No matter how hard we might look, we could never find the great ring of Sauron or the hidden platform at London's King's Cross station and the train to Hogwarts.
Indeed, many books detail aliens visiting Earth, some are published as science fiction and others as nonfiction. Not one of those alien visitation books has led to any good support for the offered hypothesis.
I consider the Bostock-Barrow experiencer case to be unique in pointing to verifiable evidence in support of past alien intervention in human origins.

I am sucked in. I have read elsewhere that Australia is where human civilization started. Interesting all the data that converges.
"We seek to confirm that communications with a discarnate consciousness can enable wisdom acquisition"... How are you going to approach that? There are anecdotes across cultures of divined or channeled information being verified. I've had a couple of small but impressive experiences with that myself. Since you're looking for studies, I'd look toward Dean Radin and Daryl Bem.
